- The tankless CPF concept required an innovative design for oil and water VRTs including 3-phase separation features
Challenge
- Vessel size already pre-selected by the operator
- Tight off-taker RVP specs
- Treated streams pumped from the equipment to the takeaway system with no hold-up tanks in between
- Provide surge management capabilities
- Provide three-phase separation features
- All the above should be achieved with a limited volume vertical configuration vessel
Project Development
- Three concept designs were developed for each service
- The operator selected one for each service
- Special internals were engineered for selected designs
- I&C and control philosophy was developed to achieve project objectives
Outcome
- VRTs fabricated and installed in the project achieved the expected performance
